Claude Code plans explained: Pro, Max, Team and API

Claude Code comes with every paid Claude plan but not with Claude Free. Pro is $20/month ($17/month billed annually); Max is $100 (5x Pro usage) or $200 (20x Pro usage) per month. Teams buy standard ($25) or premium ($125) seats, and developers can instead pay per token through the API.1
Which plan fits
- Pro: regular but not all-day use; usage limits are shared with Claude chat.1
- Max 5x / 20x: heavy daily agent use.1
- Team: 2 to 150 seats; premium seats carry 5x standard-seat usage.1
- Enterprise: seat fee plus usage at API rates, with a 20-seat minimum, billed annually.1
- API (Console): pay-as-you-go, useful for automation or uneven usage.
Training and privacy differ by plan
On consumer plans (Free, Pro, Max) you choose whether your data can be used for training; on commercial terms (Team, Enterprise, API) Anthropic does not train on Claude Code prompts or code unless you opt in.2 See AI coding assistant privacy.
