Skip to content How we check facts
- Prices, plans and free tiers come only from the vendor's own pricing page or docs. Each plan links to its source, and each tool shows the date we checked it.
- If a vendor doesn't publish something, we say "Not published". If we haven't checked yet, we say "Not verified yet". We never estimate prices, invent reviews, or publish benchmarks we didn't run.
- Lists are alphabetical (A–Z) by tool name. Membership comes from our category, verified pricing fields, or a phrase on the vendor's own page. Paid links never change membership or order.
- Best-of lists state their selection rule. Rules use either our category for the tool, its verified pricing fields, or a phrase that appears on the vendor's own page (for example "MCP" or "VS Code"). The matched text and its source URL are shown on the list. A mention is not a test or an endorsement.
- Lists with fewer than 5 tools are kept out of search results (noindex) until they grow.
- Alternatives are matched by overlap, not quality: +4 for the same category, +1 for a related category, +1 for each feature or editor both vendors name, +1 if both have a verified free plan. The table is listed A–Z. Discontinued tools are excluded.
- Comparison pages put the two vendors' records side by side. "Named on vendor page" rows mean the phrase appears on the vendor's page; we have not tested it.
- Guides answer the question first and cite their sources; plan guides reuse the same vendor-page records as our tool pages.
- Renamed, acquired or discontinued tools stay listed with a dated status note, so people searching for them find accurate alternatives.
